What is Best Bottle?

Best Bottle is a direct-to-consumer marketer reinventing the way people discover, buy, and experience wine. By working directly with vineyards and winemakers we are able to give our Best Bottle customers access to exceptional, hand-crafted wines from established brands and and new brands worth discovering. Each shipment we’ll introduce you to wines from specific AVAs and wine regions, share the story behind each bottle, and provide you with recipe pairings you can share with friends. And that’s just what’s inside your first box.

How do I sign up for Best Bottle Wine Club Membership?

To get started, click here

Choose which Wine Club option is right for you, Click on Monthly or Quarterly.

Click “Add To Cart” then Click “Checkout”.

You will see a line item bill that includes your chosen products, taxes (Domestic USA), and shipping charges. International taxes will be assessed by and paid to Customs by the customer when the wine arrives in the destination country. If you are a returning customer then Log In and proceed to checkout. Otherwise, enter your billing details and choose your PayPal or Credit Card as your billing method. Fill in your PayPal or Credit Card details then check the box to Accept Terms & Conditions. Once the box is checked Click “Place Order”. It’s that simple!

Your membership is flexible. You can always change your settings – change from Quarterly to Monthly or vice versa, choose red/white/mixed wine options, skip a shipment, and upgrade Black Label Sommelier Service – in the My Membership section, which you can find under My Account.

How much does a Best Bottle Wine Club Membership cost?

Our wine club packages start at $199+shipping.

Can I find Best Bottle wine club wines in stores and restaurants?

Many, but not all, of our Best Bottle affiliate wines are available at wine retailers and restaurants nationwide. Some are completely exclusive. Our bottles come from known wineries with real tasting rooms you can visit.

How can I learn more about wine?

How do I Skip a Shipment?

If you would not like to receive a shipment of wines for a particular shipment, you are more than welcome to use our Skip a Shipment feature. When using this feature, you will neither receive nor be charged for wines that shipment.

We recommend you skip at least 72 hours before your order date or as soon as you get your Monthly Recommendations reminder email. You’re welcome to use the Skip a Shipment feature as often as needed!

If you change your mind about skipping, you can resume so long as you do so before your next order date. Simply click Resume in the same spot.

You can find this feature in your account under the My Membership section.

I’m afraid I might forget to Skip a Month, what should I do?
We find it helpful to set a calendar reminder for a few days before your order date, too.

How do I find a specific wine or varietal on your site?

While on the site, check out our Wine Shop page for all the wines we currently have available. We’re always offering new wines, so we encourage you to browse often!

How do I rate and add notes for a wine I’ve received?

You can rate wines directly from the Best Bottle website here.

There you can start rating by using this guide:

1 Star = I didn’t like it at all.

2 Stars = It’s okay. I’d give it to friends.

3 Stars = I enjoyed it and would drink it again.

4 Stars = This bottle was great!

5 Stars = I can’t get enough!

The more wines you rate, the better. And don’t be afraid to rate a wine lower if you don’t love it.

Another great feature to utilize when you’re rating your wines are Best Bottle Moments. With this feature, you can jot down the most memorable things about the wine, where you enjoyed it, and who you shared it with. For example, did you take a bottle to a Game of Thrones viewing party with a small group of friends? A housewarming party? Or a night in with Netflix?

Keeping track of your Best Bottle Moments is a great way to add to the story of your wine journey with us! We’d love to hear about your favorite Best Bottle Moments. How do I change the name or email address on my Best Bottle Membership account?

You are welcome to update your profile at any time. We highly recommend using an email you check often, as important notifications regarding your membership will be sent there, including information about your upcoming processing date in case you want to add to your shipment or Skip a Month.

We also recommend you add us to your contacts (XYZ@winebestbottle.com) to assure that time sensitive updates don’t get lost in your promotions or spam folders. We don’t want you to miss out on anything!

Just log into your account and go to the Account Settings page to update any information you’d like.

What do I do if I forget my password or am having trouble logging in?

Just click the “Forgot Password” link above the Password field on the Sign In page. We’ll then email you with password reset instructions. Make sure to check your spam and promotions folders for the reset email.

If you’re not getting the reset password email, check to see if you originally signed up through Facebook or Google+. It’s possible that the email is going to an email connected with Facebook or Google+ that you don’t generally use.

If you are experiencing issues with your password, try typing in your login and password, instead of letting the browser autofill it.

If that doesn’t work, it might be a browser issue. Chrome and Safari work best with our current site. We recommend you try one of these browsers to access your account.

What are all the emails I receive?

Can I cancel my membership?

If you don’t wish to receive your monthly shipment, just click here to skip.

You can Skip a Month as often as you like, at no charge. Just be sure to do so 48 hours before your monthly processing date. Setting a calendar reminder a few days before is a great way to keep track of your membership.

If you think you might need to cancel your account, we want to first offer some solutions to common issues:

The membership doesn’t quite fit my budget right now.

Wine is supposed to be fun, not stressful, which is why we offer an unlimited Skip a Month feature you can use anytime you don’t wish to receive a regularly scheduled order. We also offer a wide range of Member Benefits that keep adding value throughout your membership:

  • Perks at partner wineries
  • Access to private vineyard accommodation
  • Exclusive and limited release wines
  • Access to international events

Being home to sign for shipments is difficult for me.

We realize being home to sign for packages can be a pain, which is why we recommend some alternative options so someone is always available to sign:

You can also sign up for delivery notifications via SMS to keep better track of your packages.

Since someone 21 or older must be available to sign for delivery, we have a handful of shipping solutions that we highly recommend to help give you the best shipping experience!

  • Business Address

If possible, it’s best to use a business address whenever possible.

  • Apartment Office/Doorman

If you live in an apartment building with a leasing manager, you might also want to check with them to see if they are available to sign.

You may also consider shipping to a friend or neighbor with whom you are friendly and who is generally available to sign for packages.

If your order is sent back to us, we are happy to ship it back out to you. Please note that all returned orders can be subject to a $20 restocking fee.

I can’t keep up with all the wine I’m sent every month.

With Best Bottle, you can Skip A Month anytime at no extra charge. Feel free to skip as much as you need while you get caught up.

If you’re set with wine for a bit, you can skip anytime, as often as needed until you’re ready to order again!

You can also change to a Quarterly Wine Club plan. Just visit you Account Settings.

I only wanted a one-time order.

Best Bottle Wine Club membership comes with a lot of great features for managing your account and benefits for continued savings. One of the most convenient features is Skip A Month, which is unlimited and completely free to us anytime you don’t wish to receive wine for a month.

We pride ourselves on offering established brands from real wineries with tasting rooms, cutting out the middlemen so we can offer exceptional wines, and making sure we execute every step of the process in the best way possible.

You may cancel your Best Bottle Membership account by visiting your Account Settings, giving us a call or live chatting us. There is no cancellation fee. Reach us in one of the following ways, and one of our Best Bottle Concierges will be glad to assist you.

Is there a minimum order?

Our orders start with a minimum of 4 bottles, but in the U.S. you can order as many additional bottles as you like. Outside the U.S. please refer to this chart from UPS or FedEx to determine the maximum allowable quantity for orders to your country.

When I really enjoy a wine from a previous month how do I order more?

We’re happy to hear you found a new favorite wine! To order more, simply look for it on the Wine Shop page. If you see the wine there, we still have bottles available, so go ahead and add one or more to your shopping cart!

Where can I find the status of my Membership order?

Once you have selected your wine club of choice or placed your bottles order, you are able to see the date they will process in the Order History section of your account.

There, you can see the wines in your current order as well as the status. Here are a few statuses you might see:

Authorized

Your order has been placed. Our warehouse will soon get your wine ready for you to enjoy!

Committed

Your wine has been packed and has begun making its way to you! It’s been picked up by FedEx and is waiting to be scanned at the first hub. Once it’s scanned, you’ll get your tracking number to follow along!

Shipped

Your wine has been scanned into the first FedEx hub. You now have your tracking number to follow its journey to you!

When the order has reached “Shipped” status, you can view the details of its journey en route to you by clicking the specific order and then by clicking the Track Package button.

We also send you tracking information in your Shipped email. If you are not seeing these, be sure to check your promotions or spam folders. You can also add info@winebestbottle.com to your contacts so you don’t miss any important emails!

If you’d like to be opted in to receive delivery notifications via SMS, just go to your Account Settings and click the checkbox next to “SMS Shipping Notifications.”

Why was my Best Bottle Membership order rejected?

Usually, it’s one of two reasons. The first is that we may not be able to ship to your state. Federal and state regulations restrict the states and counties where we can ship to. Check out that list further down this page.

The second may be as simple as using a different credit card. Refresh the page or delete the cookies and cache from your browser, which may be blocking the new credit card information from going through. Please contact us if you need further assistance.

For billing issues, we recommend giving us a call at 855-282-5829, Monday-Friday 10AM-4PM PT.

How can I cancel my Best Bottle Wine Club order?

You can skip your upcoming monthly order order by choosing to Skip a Month under the My Membership section of your account. The order date you’ll be skipping will be noted above the Skip a Month button. Remember to skip at least 72 hours before your regular order date to ensure that it hasn’t already been prepped and packed.

Once an order has already reached “Committed” under Order History, unfortunately it can no longer be edited or canceled as it has already begun making its way to you. If your order has already reached this stage and you no longer wish to receive the shipment, the following options may be helpful:

  1. Feel free to skip the next month (or as often as needed – skipping comes with no fee or limit) that way you can have extra time to try those wines and feel catch up. If you’re unhappy with the wines you’ve received for any reason, please contact us so we can best help you out.
  2. If returning the order is preferred, we’d be happy to find the best solution for you. Please note orders returned to Best Bottle may be subject to a restocking fee up to the total value of the order.

How can I pay for a Best Bottle Membership?

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit and debit cards with a billing address in the United States. We also accept payment via PayPal.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged on your order date. You can find your monthly order date in My Account.

Please note that your order may be authorized up to 12 hours prior to your processing date to speed up the shipping process and to make sure we get your wine to you as soon as possible.

Will I be charged sales tax on my orders?

Depending on your ship-to zip code, you may be responsible for paying applicable state and city sales taxes on your Best Bottle orders. Our system will add the applicable taxes, if necessary if you are within the USA. International orders may be subject to national or local taxes, tariffs or fees which will be assessed by and paid to the appropriate Customs collector when your shipment arrives in the country for delivery. Customers will be notified by the Customs Office when the shipment arrives and when the shipment is released for delivery or pick-up.

How do I change my billing information?

You can update your billing information by visiting the Account Settings page in your account. Simply scroll down to the Payment Methods section and edit as you need.

If you need to update the credit card information for your PayPal details, please do so in those respective account.

Please Note: If you received an alert bar message advising you to update your billing, after updating, simply place a Ship Now order to resume your account, and you’ll be all set.

Why is my credit card not working?

You might want to check the expiration date on your card. If you’re trying to update your credit card info, try refreshing the page and/or deleting the cookies and cache from your browser, which may be blocking the new credit card information from going through.

There appears to be a $1 charge on my credit card from you guys. What is this?

This is a part of the credit card authorization process. Don’t worry, the $1 is never actually charged to your card.

I just placed an order and realized my order's shipping address is incorrect, can I edit it?

If your order has already processed and it’s in “Authorized” status under your Order History, you may edit your address under your Address Book ASAP. Your address change will apply successfully to the current order and will become your default for future orders.

Please note once an order has already reached “Committed” under your Order History, unfortunately it can no longer be edited. Your address change will not apply to the current order and will only update for future orders.

How much does shipping cost for Membership orders?

Shipping rate varies by destination. All shipping costs are disclosed prior to completing your transaction so you will know the rate before you pay.

When will my Best Bottle shipment be delivered?

Your monthly or quarterly shipment ships on the first day of the month or quarter, depending on which club package you choose.

Shipping typically takes 3-7 business days within the U.S. depending on your distance from our fulfillment center. International shipments can take anywhere from 5 to 30 days to reach their destination (and in rare cases longer) depending on distance from the fulfillment center, customs processing and clearance, and other factors.

Should I ship to my home, work address, or UPS/FedEx Office?

Since someone 21 or older must be available to sign for delivery, we have a handful of shipping solutions that we highly recommend to help give you the best shipping experience!

Business Address

If possible, it’s best to use a business address whenever possible.

Apartment Office/Doorman

Who can accept a shipment of wine from Best Bottle?

Someone who is at least 21 years old must be available to sign for each shipment. When providing us with a shipping address please take this into account as all packages are labeled as containing wine and legally require an in-person signature. Carriers will not leave packages unattended regardless of having a signature on file.

 

We highly recommend you use a business address whenever possible for your convenience.

 

If you cannot have your monthly order shipped to your work, we recommend as an alternative that you enter a local FedEx Office that accepts packages in the shipping address field. The benefits of shipping to a FedEx Office are that someone 21 and over will be available to sign for it, they often have flexible hours, and they can hold it for up to 5 business days.

If you’d like to change your shipping address, just log in and go to your Address Book under the Account Settings page to update and save your information. Just remember to update your shipping address before your next order date!

How can I track my membership order once it ships?

Every month when your order ships, we will send you an email with its tracking number. You can also view the tracking number for all orders from the Order History page in your account. Each order will have a “Track Order” button that will lead you to your tracking number.

On the go? You can also opt into SMS delivery notifications to track your order. Just go to your Account Settings page and click the checkbox next to “SMS Shipping Notifications.”

Please allow up to 48 hours for your tracking number to begin sharing updates. Shared updates from your tracking number will conveniently include the estimated delivery date/next delivery attempt date, its last location, any Delivery Exceptions, etc.

It’s also important to know that the location listed next to any Delivery Exceptions may differ from your order’s destination city. This is because the location shown next to any Delivery Exception is the location of the shipping facility your order was last seen at. If those two locations differ, no need to worry as your wine is heading to the address attached to your order details!

My order just shipped, but I won’t be home to sign for delivery, what can I do?

Someone 21 or older has to be available to sign for all your Best Bottle orders. We know it can make shipping a little more difficult, but it’s alcohol and it’s the law. The good news is if you don’t think you’re going to be home to sign, there’s a solution available to help you out!

The carrier attempted to deliver my wine but I missed the delivery. What do I do now?

If you just missed your delivery, please know FedEx will attempt to deliver it up to 3 times in total. Check your tracking number to be updated on when their next attempt will be. Your tracking number can be found at anytime under your Order History.

If you know you won’t be home for the next attempt, here’s a solution that may help you out!

I'm going to miss/I missed the last delivery attempt, do I have any other options?

UPS/FedEx will always attempt to deliver your wine up to 3 times in total. After that last attempt, the shipper will unfortunately begin to return the package.

Can I request an alternate shipping date?

Best Bottle ships all Wine Club packages on the first day of the month and quarter. To arrange for an alternate delivery date, time, or location please visit your tracking link at FedEx.com or UPS.com

How do I change my shipping address?

You can change your shipping address under the Address Book section of your Account Settings page.

To ensure that your next order is delivered to the correct address, please update 72 hours prior to your order date. Also, please make sure to update it to a location where someone 21 and over will be available to sign, such as a business address or a FedEx Office location that can hold it for free for 5 business days.

How do SMS shipping notifications work?

When opting into SMS shipping notifications, you will be sent a text to the cell phone number on file between the hours of 8AM – 8PM local time and we won’t use your cell phone for marketing purposes.

The text will be sent once your order has shipped and will provide the tracking number as well as the estimated delivery date. A text will also be sent if you miss a delivery attempt.

How can I opt into SMS shipping notifications?

You can opt into SMS shipping notifications by logging into your Best Bottle Membership account and going to your Account Settings. Scroll down and check the box next to “SMS Shipping Notifications” or via our mobile app. Simple as that!

How can I opt out of SMS shipping notifications?

In the same way you opted in, you can opt out of SMS shipping notifications at any time through your Account Settings page or via our mobile app. You can also reply “STOP” at anytime to any shipping message you have received.

Is it possible to contact Best Bottle Support via text message?

Absolutely! Separate from the SMS shipping notifications we send, we can additionally be reached for support by texting us!

What do I do if my wine is damaged or a bottle appears to be missing?

We take great care to ensure that your product arrives undamaged and your order complete. However, accidents do occur. If your shipment is damaged or missing, please contact us so we can offer a replacement or account credit.

When contacting us, please be sure to include which shipment/bottle was damaged or missing so we can help you as efficiently as possible.

What do I do if I don't like my wine?

Best Bottle takes pride in offering some of the best products available for our members. If you are not completely satisfied for any reason, please let us know immediately.

Be sure to include the name of the wine you didn’t enjoy, so we can best assist you with solutions.

How can I return my wine?

If you are dissatisfied with your order for any reason, please contact us immediately so we can resolve your concerns. We may make arrangements, if appropriate. For more immediate assistance, we recommend texting us or live chatting us using the Support button below.

Returned orders may be subject to a restocking fee up to the total value of the order.

How long does it take to process a refund?

Once we have received your returned products, please allow 7-10 days for your refund to process depending on your bank’s processing time.

Are there states or zip codes where Best Bottle cannot deliver wine?

We are only able to ship to states which have laws that permit shipment of wine directly to consumers. Currently we are unable to accept orders that are delivered to addresses in AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, KY, MI*, MS, OK, RI, SD*, and UT. However, if you live in one of these states and want to send a gift or shipment to an address outside of those listed above, you are able to do so.

*Michigan (MI): The state of Michigan has specific shipping restrictions. Please feel free to contactinfo@winebestbottle.com for additional assistance.

*South Dakota (SD): Due to carrier limitations within the state of South Dakota, unfortunately we are unable to accept new members at this time.

The laws regarding the direct wine shipments are constantly changing. We will expand our service area when laws permit and are optimistic that these restrictions will gradually disappear as consumer demand grows.

Are there specific zip codes where Best Bottle cannot deliver wine?

Additionally, there are certain zip codes which do not allow the shipment of wine in Florida, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and West Virginia. If you live in one of these areas, please contact us, so we can see if we can come up with a shipping solution tailored to you!

Does the state of Michigan have specific shipping restrictions?

I’m interested in joining the Best Bottle Membership, but I’m unable to ship to the state of Michigan. What can I do?

Thank you for checking out Best Bottle! Unfortunately, due to Michigan laws, there are certain restrictions when it comes to shipping wine to our members. I’m sorry to say this means we currently are unable to ship some of our wines to the state of Michigan.

Unfortunately, we cannot ship to P.O. boxes at this time.

Yes! Best Bottle delivers wine to the following countries:

Aruba, Austria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan ,United Kingdom, United States.

Are there states or zip codes to which Best Bottle Wine Club and Wine Shop cannot deliver wine?

We are only able to ship to states which have laws that permit shipment of wine directly to consumers. Currently we are unable to accept orders that are delivered to addresses in AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, KY, MS, OK, RI, SD*, and UT. However, if you live in one of these states and want to send a gift to an address outside of those listed above, you are able to do so.

*South Dakota (SD): Due to carrier limitations within the state of South Dakota, unfortunately we are unable to accept new members at this time.

The laws regarding the direct wine shipments are constantly changing. We will expand our service area when laws permit and are optimistic that these restrictions will gradually disappear as consumer demand grows.
