2016 Merlot Napa Valley
Camphor, dried tobacco, and basil abound! Integrated acid and soft tannins give this wine its characteristic plush, round mouthfeel. A fine palate of English plums, raspberry gratin, and dried thyme makes the Merlot versatile enough for any meal.
Berries were 100% destemmed to tank and fermented over the course of 18 days. Upon pressing the wine was racked to 60 gal French oak barrels, of which 30% were new, where it rested for 22 months prior to bottling.
2016 Sangiovese Napa Valley
A vibrant nose of strawberry compote is accented by sweet brioche toast and tarragon. Sangiovese’s signature reduction is present in this offering, but it takes a back seat on the palate to the wine’s iron-core. Well-balanced acidity ties all those earthy elements with the bright, fresh red-fruit aromatics.
Berries were carefully destemmed into 1-ton bins where they fermented over the course of 15 days. Upon pressing the wine spent a little over a year in barrel before completing the maturation process in stainless steel.
2018 Rosé Napa Valley
The true hallmark of this wine is its melon core. While most Rosés rely upon up-front berry flavors, our fruit yields more nuanced cantaloupe, casaba and bosc pear notes. A delightful summer wine, though one that demands serious attention
Half the fruit was gently foot-macerated prior to pressing, with the other half whole-cluster pressed. After settling the juice for twenty hours it was racked off the lees. The wine was fermented for 35 days at 57° in order to better express its melon and red berry character.
2018 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Our chalky marl from estate soils lend a stony reductive quality to the aroma. Elements of flint are omnipresent on the nose. Lower crop yields help retain flavor concentration with more savory notes of gunmetal, quartz, and tarragon with bright acidity and minerality
The goal when creating this wine was to have all of those quirky, previously unseen bits of earth from our faultline at the Ranch come through in the glass. After whole-cluster pressing, our Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in stainless steel for 29 days to retain its delicate aroma profile.
